SMC Corporate Finance advised Augenmobil AG and its shareholders as exclusive M&A advisor on the sale of a majority stake to Vista eye clinics (veonet Group)
SMC Corporate Finance acted as the exclusive M&A advisor to the owners of Zurich-based Augenmobil AG, founded in 2018, on the sale of a majority shareholding to Vista clinics. Augenmobil is a provider of mobile and telemedicine eye care services, primarily for senior and nursing homes as well as underserved areas and corporate clients. Examinations are carried out on-site by specialized staff and evaluated digitally by ophthalmologists.
Currently, Augenmobil serves around 170 retirement and care homes across seven cantons. The company has a standardized onboarding and rollout model that enables systematic expansion into additional cantons and remote regions. At the core of its business model is a proprietary cloud-based digital infrastructure developed over seven years, integrating mobile diagnostics, structured data collection, standardized processes, and medical reporting.
For Augenmobil, the partnership opens up accelerated expansion into new cantons, the use of Vista’s medical infrastructure to provide patients with high-quality treatment, and integration into a Europe-wide network within the veonet Group. This creates opportunities to leverage network effects and to replicate the model internationally.
Vista, a company of the veonet Group, is one of the leading providers of eye care in Switzerland. The company operates a network of over 30 eye clinics and eye hospitals throughout Switzerland and offers diagnostics, conservative treatments, and surgical procedures. By acquiring a stake in Augenmobil, Vista expands its portfolio to include a mobile eye care service.
